Jacquie Brennan, President Jac Brennan is an attorney with The Southwest ADA Center, as well as the Director
of the Paralegal Certificate Program at the University of Houston. Her interest in disability law started with her nine children,
five of whom are adopted and have different kinds of disabilities. Jac, her husband, and their four dogs -- Liberty, Justice,
America, and Independence -- live in historic Eastwood. In addition to her work with A Simple Thread, Jac is also the President
of the Board of Directors of Project DOCC and serves on the Board of Womenade of Houston. She serves on the Bioethics Committee
of Texas Children's Hospital and the Ethics Committee of TIRR Memorial Hermann.

Susan Glenn, Vice-President
Susan Glenn attended Baylor University, and marriage and motherhood happily interrupted her studies. She has two lovely
daughters, Jennifer and Kristin. She returned to college after raising her daughters, getting her BS in Psychology at UH-Clear
Lake, (on the same night as her South Houston High School 20 year reunion!) and 2 years later, an MA in General Clinical Psychology.
She didn't particularly enjoy psychotherapy, and Susan hates to spend time doing things she doesn't enjoy, and she now teaches
psychology at Houston Community College.

Kay Haggard, Secretary
Kay Haggard is a native Houstonian, but has traveled and worked in a number of cities across the U.S., returning to her
Houston home in 2005. Kay is a paralegal with over 12 years of experience in intellectual property law working with several
Fortune 500 corporations and major law firms. Kay graduated from the University of Texas at Austin Paralegal Program in 1996.
In her spare time, Kay enjoys spending time with her two dogs, photography and travel.

Ariane Rothacker, Treasurer
Ariane is a Director at Sirius Solutions, a Houston based consulting firm, with years of accounting and finance experience.
Originally from New York, Ariane came to Houston by way of Atlanta, GA. With a desire to give back to the community, she
annually organizes The Smart Mouth Goddesses for an event benefiting the DePelchin Children's Center. In her spare time,
she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family. Ariane is very excited to be a part of A Simple
Thread.

Laurie Hammons, Director
Laurie Hammons is a native of Longview, Texas, and is a graduate of Trinity University. At the Rice University Center
for Education she is director of publications, manages the finances and website, and assists with research projects and teacher
enrichment programs. She also edits books and scholarly papers. She is past Editorial Coordinator of the American Educational
Research Journal. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their two amazing adult daughters, as well as quilting, painting,
and photography. She sings in the choir at Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church and looks for ways to bring a smile to those
who need one.

Cathy Herrington, Director
Catherine Hale Herrington is a fourth-generation Texan and attorney in Houston. Cathy received her BA from Vesalius College,
Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Brussels, Belgium. Upon returning from abroad, she worked as a legislative aide in Washington,
DC for Congressman Gene Green focusing on obtaining federal grants for Houston including funds for The Coalition for the Homeless
and various arts programs. Cathy returned to Texas and was graduated from The University of Houston Law Center in 1998. She
practices civil and family law in counties all over Texas and is the founder of The Herrington Law Firm, PC. When Cathy is
not lawyering, she enjoys golfing, playing league tennis, practicing yoga and mountain biking. She serves on the Advisory
Board for the Houston Council on Alcohol and Drugs, represents the State Bar Committee on Lawyers Assistance as Chairperson,
regularly speaks to the University of Houston Paralegal Program, and volunteers her time for Special Olympics tennis and cycling
events.

Laura Gerken Redd, Director
Laurie has been involved in disability rights, including advocating for mental health issues, for more than 30 years.
She is the Administrative Director of ILRU (Independent Living Research Utilization), a program of TIRR|Memorial Hermann,
that conducts research and training for people with disabilities and disability rights organizations. Her interest in mental
health issues has led her to volunteer for the Krist Samaritan Counseling Center in Houston where she currently serves as
president of the board of directors. She is active in Clear Lake United Methodist Church.

Jessica Sellers, Director
Jessica Longoria Sellers is a native Houstonian and currently lives in southeast Houston. She has an BBA and a MEd from
Texas A&M University. She currently works as an IT consultant for Sirius Solutions. Before her consulting career, she
was a high school computer teacher. Jessica's favorite volunteer work is putting together and distributing Thanksgiving &
Christmas baskets at her church, so she is very excited about A Simple Thread. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, exercising
and participating in athletic events for various charities.

James May, Director
James is the Manager of Managed Pressure Drilling for Smith Services. A graduate of Texas Tech University, James is a
mechanical engineer. He has several loves -- his motorcycle, his shelties, his house, all things science fiction, fixing things,
and of course, his amazing wife. Not necessarily in that order -- the shelties would have to go first.

Kevin Connelly, Director
Kevin Connelly is an attorney at Baker Botts, L.L.P. law firm in Houston, a position
he has held since September 2007. He attended the University of Houston Law Center from August 2004 through May 2007, working
as Senior Articles Editor of the Houston Law Review and interning with Advocacy, Inc. in the summer of 2005. Prior to attending
law school, he was a public school teacher, spreading the joy of mathematics to high schoolers in Georgia and Texas. Kevin
has lived in Houston since 2002. He and his wife Kathy have a baby son.

Jan Whaley, Director Jan Whaley is a commercial real estate paralegal for Hughes Watters
Askanase, LLP, as well as a teaching assistant for the University of Houston Paralegal Certificate Program. She has more than
ten years' experience in real estate as a former Escrow Officer and Commercial Closer. Jan also has a son who keeps her on
her toes. When not working, Jan focuses on self-improvement, spending time with her son and family, and finishing her degree,
with hopes of attending law school
